A Pella man pled guilty to at least one count following a late June 2015 altercation.

Forty-nine year old Vincent P. Sanders was charged with 1st degree burglary, a class B felony, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and reckless use of a firearm, both class D felonies, and possession of marijuana. According to court records, police responded to a 911 call of a man with a gun at a home on Peace Street.

Witnesses and victims told police Sanders entered the home without permission and was there to retrieve what he believed to be stolen property. They say he pointed the gun at victims and a fight broke out between numerous individuals.

When the altercation moved outside, police say Sanders pulled the trigger of the firearm, shooting and killing his dog. A hearing is scheduled March 25th.
