Monday will mark an historical day for Pella Christian sports. For the first time in school history, the Eagles will be sending a bowler to the state tournament. Anna Burg for the PC girls earned it by being the district champion in last Tuesday’s state qualifying meet with a series of 329. The senior’s score was the lowest of the individual qualifiers for Class 1A, but half the battle is just getting there, says Coach Rod Blunck. He tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that that the atmosphere won’t be different at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines, and neither will be the preparation for Monday’s meet. Burg will be bowling at 10:00 a.m. on Monday on Lane 13 for the Class 1A state meet. We’ll have updates on KNIAKRLS.com under Today’s Sports for all of our area winter sports teams this postseason.
