The Trojan Girls Basketball squad would fall in the first round of the Class 1A regionals Saturday night 49-35 to the Blue Devils of Martensdale-St. Mary’s.

The game would start off even through halftime, where a couple of late shots would propel the Blue Devils to a 25-20 lead. Foul trouble would plague the Trojans, as Kelsee Van Haalen would pick up two early fouls and be forced to sit the bench for a majority of the first half, while seniors Bailey Oliva and Kylee Stecker would both foul out late in the game. The Trojans had opportunities to get back into the game late, but too many missed outside shots would doom the Trojans. Pleasantville Head Coach Aaron Fichter said that the foul trouble and some injuries hurt his depth and the girls would be tired in the second half. The Trojans end their season with a 7-15 record. A full season recap with coach Fichter can be heard on the Knoxville Hyvee Radio Coaches Corner in the coming weeks.
