Despite the Wrestling team being a Pleasantville institution and historically one of their most successful programs over the years, new Pleasantville Head Wrestling Coach Heath DeForest says that while he thinks wrestling is important to the school it would be even better if the grapplers go out and compete in different sports.

That doesn’t mean that wrestling isn’t important, or that they shouldn’t be working to get better on the mats throughout the offseason, but more success breeds success. Coach DeForest tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that nothing would make him happier than to see the guys go out and win state championships in the other activities Pleasantville has to offer, because he believes that it will bring more wins to the wrestling team. So while wrestling is important in Pleasantville, it can be measured as equals to the other sports for the Trojans even by the grapplers themselves.
