The Simpson Storm Men’s Basketball squad would attempt a furious second half comeback but couldn’t quite finish it out in an 89-87 loss to Loras on Saturday.

Sam Amsbaugh would have 25 points to lead the Storm, who trailed late in the fourth but a 15-1 run would get them within a basketball before a failed lob at the buzzer would give them the loss. The Storm end the regular season at 15-10 and 8-6 in the Iowa Conference and will have the third seed in the upcoming conference tournament. The Storm women would get outscored 36-21 in the second half in their loss to Loras 60-39. Katie Ahrenholtz would lead the Storm with 12 points, and the loss forces the Storm into the fifth seed in the conference tournament. The men will host Buena Vista, while the women will travel to Buena Vista for their next games on the hardwood.
