Behind 33 points and 12 rebounds from Colby Taylor, Central men’s basketball grabbed an 84 – 71 win over Luther at home yesterday evening. The Dutch came out to a 42 – 32 lead in the first half, shooting over 48% from the field and eight made three-pointers. Taylor had six of the team’s 14 total triples for the night, and teammate Pete Walker scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. The team also went to the line 24 times, converting 21 of them. A total of 26 turnovers doomed the Central women’s team in their 80 – 52 loss to the Norse. Luther turned those giveaways into 33 points, and it was another game that saw the Dutch dig a big hole early, falling behind 26 – 16 after one quarter. Claire Marburger led the team with 18 points and eight rebounds, as the Dutch fall to 4 – 16 overall and 1 – 8 in conference play. The men rise to 14 – 6 and 5 – 4 in league play. Both teams are on the road to Indianola this Saturday to face Simpson.
