The Pleasantville Girls Basketball team would play its best half of basketball in a 31-8 first half rout of Wayne last night, the Trojans continued the momentum through half number two en route to a 59-44 victory.

Kelsee Van Haalen would break out of her scoring shell and put up 18 to lead the squad, while Bailey Oliva had 11, and Corinne Thomas and Madyson Thill would each put in 9. Pleasantville Head Girls Basketball Coach Aaron Fichter told KNIA/KRLS Sports “That was the best half of basketball I have ever been on the sidelines for”. The Trojans improve their record to 6-14.

The boys game was much more dramatic, the Trojans would trail by three with less than a minute remaining, but an offensive rebound putback by Adreon, and a subsequent steal by Adreon led to a Brady Elder layup all in less than 15 seconds would put the Trojans ahead. Two clutch free throws from Elder would let the Trojans hang on and claim victory 71-69. Elder would lead the team with 27 points, and the Trojans improve to 13-6. Both Trojans squads will next play at Southeast Warren tonight.
