Highlighted by two sixth place finishes at the 2015 Class 2A State Track and Field Meet, the Pella Christian Eagles are looking for at least a duplicate performance when that time comes around in roughly two months. The Eagles did graduate a healthy amount of seniors, including Christa Veenstra, who placed 12th in the 400 meter dash at state, and a good chunk of their relay teams. As cliché as a sports broadcaster can be, “good teams reload,” and that’s just what the Eagles have done in 2016. Sarah Meyer and Kathryn Van Tuyl (Tile, like a Scrabble® tile) will help lead the charge as the returning upperclassmen for PC, and Coach Keith Anderson hopes the incoming batch of talent can take the place of those graduated. Pella Christian’s girls begin the year outdoors on March 29 against Centerville, Albia, Chariton, and PCM.
