Playing their last two games in Florida for the time being, the Central softball team left on a high note with a sweep on Wednesday. The Dutch began the day with a 2 – 1 edging of Kean. They trailed 1 – 0 going into the bottom of the fifth, when Central conjured up some two-out magic. With Abbie Voas at first, she stole both second and third base with Sarah Bowen at the plate. Bowen would then drive Voas in to tie the game with a base knock, steal a base, and score the game-winning run thanks to a Sadie Baugher single. Karly Olson pitched seven innings of three-hit ball in the win. The Dutch put up ten runs in the first three innings, but had to hold on late to stave off Rhodes in the nightcap, 12 – 9. Voas had a solo shot in the sixth, and Olson went 3-for-5 at the plate with a pair of RBIs. Central improves to 9 – 3 on the season, and they have a travel day off to prepare for a doubleheader in Georgia this Friday versus Piedmont and Texas Lutheran.
