Make it two straight seasons for the Central wrestling program to have four Scholar All-Americans according to the National Wrestling Coaches Association. Two seniors, Jay Pike and AJ Pestano, junior Matt Seabold, and sophomore CJ Pestano were the quartet honored for the Dutch, matching the school record set last year. To qualify for the award, a grappler must hold a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 and either place in the top six of their NCAA Division III regional tournament or win better than 2/3 of their matches. Central’s wrestling program has had 17 different wrestlers win the award a total of 22 times since 1988. Pestano, fresh off a runner-up finish at the D3 National Tournament on Saturday, is being honored with the scholarship award for the second time in as many seasons.
