When you receive a long text message or e-mail from either Dak Rasmussen or Brent Van Hauen, you know the Pella High track and field teams had a good day. This was again the case yesterday when the Little and Lady Dutch participated in the Little Hawkeye Conference indoor meet at Grinnell College. On the girls’ side, Pella had eight first place finishers. The shuttle hurdle, 4 x 200, 400 and 800 meter relay teams all prevailed, Emma Thoreson took gold in the 60 meter hurdles, Annika Pingel won the 200 meter dash, and Tess Roorda and Kelsey Blommers tied in the 1500 meter run at 5:20.37. Chase Van Sant won the long jump and 60 meter hurdles for the boys, Austin Hill and Tyson Wassenaar were 1 – 2 in the shot put, Payson Vande Lune was second in the 800, and, just like the girls, the shuttle hurdle, 4 x 200, 400, and 800 meter relay teams all were on the top of the podium. Full results can be found below. The indoor track and field season for Pella High concludes tomorrow at Central College.
