With the season completed, the PCM Mustang girls basketball team can look back on their third place finish in a tough Heart of Iowa Conference with eyes ahead to next year.

They will not be the only team to do with high hopes however, as the tough conference will get even more competitive as many teams do not lose many girls to graduation. Conference leader and Class 3A runner-up Nevada loses two important cogs in their rotation but will return star Lexy Koudelka who is just a sophomore. The North Polk Comets also had a young team, graduating only one senior from the rotation. Other teams on the rise in the Heart of Iowa include Gilbert and Roland-Story who both have a ton of experience returning. The Mustangs themselves return a class of seven juniors from the rotation, and will be looking towards a strong junior varsity team from this past season to supplement the ranks.
