Dominating the Little Hawkeye Conference in 2015-16, the Pella High boys’ basketball team had a total of six athletes named to the all-Conference list due to their strong season. Junior Ryan Van Wyk and senior Will Warner were both chosen to the first team all-Conference. Van Wyk was sixth in the league in scoring; averaging just under 15 points per game, while grabbing a league-leading 9.5 rebounds per contest. Van Wyk had 81 more total boards than the next closest student-athlete in the L-H-C. Warner was eighth in the conference in scoring, with 13.6 points per game, he averaged five rebounds per affair, and led the league in assists, with a total of 123. Nick Finney and Payson Vande Lune were named to the second team. Finney was second in the conference with 43 steals, and second in assists to Warner with 113. Vande Lune averaged about 11 points per game, good for 11th best, and had the ninth most steals, coming up with 32 swipes this season. Grant Judkins and Noah Clayberg were each honorable mentions. The Little Dutch went 24 – 2 this year, including an undefeated 12 – 0 run in conference games, and finished in third place at the Class 3A state tournament.
