Winning their first five games of the year, the Pella Christian boys’ basketball team went 5 – 0 right out of the gate and played exceptionally well from the word, “Go.”

Beating teams like Newton, A-D-M, PCM, and Oskaloosa, the Eagles soared early and won some close games. Coach Larry Hessing says that in hindsight, their first quarter of the season featured a fairly difficult schedule, but gives credit to the team’s hard work away from practice and during the summer as to why they were able to grab some wins at the beginning of the season. Hessing adds that the post players were still developing their game, so the fact that they stayed undefeated through five games is that much bigger of a feat. The Eagles were 18 – 10 in 2015-16.
