100 Men on a Mission gave $3,100 to Backpack Buddies of Knoxville yesterday.

Backpack Buddies was selected as the first recipient of the recently formed charity, which has all of its members vote on where to allocate their contributions. Linn Roose, co-founder of the organization and Ted Feldman, a member who presented Backpack Buddies as a possible recipient, presented the check to Katrina Nelson, the community liaison for Backpack Buddies. Backpack Buddies provides food to low-income children on the weekends. Nelson expressed gratitude for the contribution. 100 Men on a Mission’s next meeting will be held in Knoxville on July 12 at a location to be decided.
