Senior member of the Central women’s track and field team, Abi Davis was chosen as the Iowa Conference female athlete of the week. This was due to her performance at the Darrel Gourley Open last weekend, where Davis placed in the top six of four events. Davis accounted for 25 of Central’s 44 points to help them take seventh place overall as a team. The senior finished runner-up to Division II athlete and All-American, Kimberly Bailey, in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Davis was also a member of the Dutch’s 4 x 100 and 400 meter relay teams that finished third and sixth, respectively. This Saturday is senior day for Central as the Dutch Open comes to Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium, with field events slated to start at 11:00 a.m. and track events getting going at 1:00 p.m.
