With only one win in their last 11 games, the Central baseball team will have another uphill battle to try to dig themselves out of their hole as they welcome league-leading Wartburg into town for the first two games of their series today. The Knights enter play with a 13 – 3 record in the Iowa Conference, and are receiving votes on the national poll. The team is hitting a respectable .282, but their most damage is being done on the mound. Their team ERA is 2.62, with the starters holding a 16 – 4 combined record this year. Central has been able to put up some early runs in games, but they have not been able to hold those leads. They are being outscored 25 – 14 in the first inning this year, and 88 – 51 through four innings. You can hear game two of the twin-bill live on KNIAKRLS.com via our KNIA2 stream. Cory Houser will have the call, starting with the pre-game show at around 3:15 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 3:30.
