Starting the day in sixth place, the Central women’s golf team improved by two rungs to finish fourth at the Wartburg Spring Invitational yesterday. After shooting a first-round 350, the Dutch improved by eight strokes to score a 342 to usurp both Wisconsin – Eau Claire and Luther, neither of whom improved upon their Saturday scores. Christine Ausman led the way for the second straight day for Central, shooting an 85 to score a 168 total for the tournament, and finished tied for 15th individually. Wartburg was the only other school to do better than the Dutch, and they shot a total score of 632. The spring season concludes next Saturday and Sunday for Central’s women as they go to Storm Lake for the Buena Vista spring invitational tournament.
