Men’s track and field athlete Kody Dailey and men’s tennis player Garret Taylor were cited as the lowa Conference athletes of the week in their respective sports Tuesday.

For the second time this spring, Dailey earned the field events athlete of the week after another strong performance in the javelin throw. He won the Dutch Open with a toss of 192 feet, 10 inches, breaking the school record. He now ranks 18th in the country in the event. He also finished third in the discus throw with a mark of 139-5. Dailey will throw at the Drake Relays in Des Moines on Friday morning at 10 a.m.

Playing at both No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles for matches against Loras and Dubuque Saturday, Taylor was 4-0 and did not drop a set on the day. He won 6-4, 6-4 against Loras in singles and 6-4, 6-3 against Dubuque. Partnered with C.J. Cliff in doubles, the duo won 8-0 against Dubuque and 8-3 against Loras. The Dutch host Luther College in the regular season finale on Saturday at 9 a.m.
