Nothing but goose eggs were had by the two Dubuque schools against Central’s men’s tennis team. The Dutch shut out the Spartans and Loras, 9 – 0, in an Iowa Conference Saturday triangular. West Adelman, Garret Taylor, Jacob Logan, Tom Palmer, and Sam Dykstra were all 2 – 0 in their singles matches at slots 1-through-5. Scott Wilson and CJ Cliff alternated in the No. 6 match in each dual, and both emerged victorious in straight sets. The Dutch are now 10 – 8 overall and 4 – 2 in Iowa Conference meets. Senior Day is next on the docket for the Dutch, when they host Luther College next Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Central’s women fell to Grinnell College, 7 – 2. The two wins came in singles competition; Kari Grindberg and Paige Vannausdle were the lone winners for Central. The ladies are off until this Friday as they are the No. 3 seed in the Iowa Conference tournament. They will face No. 6-seeded Loras in Cedar Rapids in the first round. Central defeated the Duhawks, 9 – 0, in their fall conference dual confrontation.
