Concluding their home invitational tournament yesterday, Central softball split another pair of games, this time against Gustavus Adolphus. The Dutch fell 6 – 2 in game one, as the offense was limited to just three hits and the defense committed a pair of errors. A six-run fifth inning ended game number two early, and Central salvaged the split with an 8 – 0 win. Karly Olson was tagged with the loss on the mound in the first contest, but threw a one-hitter with six strikeouts in the finale. Tabitha Taylor provided the walk-off hit, a bases-clearing double, as the Dutch batted around in the inning. Central is now 14 – 8 on the season, and they begin conference play tomorrow at home versus Simpson.
