Pella Christian’s boys’ soccer team grabbed their fifth straight win to start the season, and second in as many days yesterday with a 3 – 1 decision over Oskaloosa. The lead was the slimmest at halftime at 2 – 1, but Davi Simoes completed the hat trick with a goal in the final 40 minutes to give the Eagles a bigger cushion to work with defensively. Alex Pringle had two assists and Nathan De Bruin had the other for PC. Coach Gerrit Brouwer tells KNIA/RKLS Sports that the defense once again played extremely well, and gave credit to Connor Dunsbergen for his efforts. The Eagle ladies were blanked by the Indians, 3 – 0. Oskaloosa had seven shots on goal, compared to PC’s five. They are now 3 – 2, and both teams take on North Polk on Thursday; the boys stay at home while the girls make the road trip.
