A pair of one-run games did not go the way of Central on Saturday, as they were swept by Coe on the baseball field, 1 – 0 and 6 – 5. Blake Judkins was the hard-luck loser on the mound in game one; he threw the complete game, striking out four, allowing three walks, and just four base hits. Central stranded seven runners on base, and five in scoring position in the loss. They were unable to take advantage of six Kohawk errors in game two, battling back from down 4 – 2 but dropping in extra innings, 6 – 5. The Dutch got out to a quick 2 – 0 lead, but a three-run home run from Andrew Brierton with two outs put Coe up 4 – 2. Central forged back, and had a chance to win in the bottom of the 10th inning, and came up a little short. After winning games 1 and 2, the Dutch had to settle for a four-game split, which drops their conference record to 4 – 4, and their overall mark to 6 – 11. Simpson is next on the schedule for a pair of games this Wednesday.
