Missed opportunities was the key for the Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad, who fell in their season opener last night to Carlisle 2-1. The Wildcats jumped on top with two goals in the first 23 minutes, but Knoxville’s Tori Dye nailed a goal with just over a minute remaining in the first half to cut the lead to one. The Panthers had several opportunities to tie the match but could not get a goal. Coach Charlie Fisher told KNIA/KRLS they played much better last night then in the scrimmage last week. He adds the younger players will be called on to play several minutes this season. Knoxville is now 0-1 on the season and will travel to Des Moines Christian on Thursday.
