Also dealing with a smaller available roster due to Saturday obligations, the Pella High girls’ soccer team picked up two wins in different fashions in their home triangular. The day started with a defensive battle against Class 1A No. 15-ranked North Polk. The game and overtime ended scoreless, and the Lady Dutch escaped with a 2 – 1 win in the penalty kicks. Alice Lickteig and Kiara Braldey had the PK goals for the Lady Dutch. To end the day, with a mostly freshman and sophomore line-up, Pella grabbed a 10 – 0 win over Des Moines Roosevelt in a game that ended with 15 minutes left to go. Emma Thoreson, Grace Held, Kayla Langstraat, Lexi Brown, Jenny Wieser, and Kloe Lambert were among the goal scorers for the Lady Dutch. Their record swells to 4 – 0, and they start conference play this Tuesday on the road to Grinnell for a varsity only contest.
