Coe College has been a perennial powerhouse in men’s tennis in the Iowa Conference.

The final scores may not have quite reflected it, but Central did put up a fight, one that Coach Ryun Ferrell was proud of. It can be disheartening for athletes to get blanked in a match, so Coach Ferrell hasn’t told his guys to keep their chins up. He has used the defeats as learning experiences and has employed almost a Cinderella-like spell to help the team move on. Ferrell adds that the team he has this year hasn’t needed much, or any, aid to focus on the next task and not dwell on the past. The Dutch are preparing for a doubleheader in Dubuque against the Spartans and Loras this weekend for a league triangular.
