The pitch and the tennis courts at Pella Christian will be filled with Eagles and Blue Demons this afternoon. The Eagles’ girls take on the Lady Dees in a JV/Varsity tennis meet at PCHS. They are experiencing a record number of girls out for tennis during Danielle Stubbs’ tenure as head coach; a total of 32 gals are donning the maroon and gold for the Eagles, with a lot of experience back to balance the number of fresh faces. Coach Stubbs says it’s a benefit to have the five seniors on the varsity team this year, as they are able to guide the younger players and don’t need motivation to get going and get up to speed. The Eagle boys host Albia on the soccer pitch as well tonight. PC is off to a 2 – 0 start after downing both PCM and Newton to begin the season. Tonight marks the beginning of a six-game home stand for Pella Christian, while Albia just made their 2016 debut last night versus Knoxville. Tennis is scheduled to start at 4:15 while the varsity soccer match has a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
