For the first time all year, both Eagles’ soccer squads fell on the same night.

The boys fell behind big in the first half in a 4-0 loss on the road. Norwalk’s win puts them in the drivers’ seat for the boys Little Hawkeye Conference title.

The Pella Christian girls put up a good fight against the Warriors on Tuesday, but fell short 3 – 1. The Eagles started out strong with the first goal of the game made by Cailey Terpstra in the first 10 minutes.

Head coach Mike Buchheit told KNIA/KRLS Sports he thought it was a great match and a step forward for the team as a whole.

“I don’t think Norwalk expected us to come out on top and get a lead early in the game. I think our girls are starting to learn that we can play stronger offensively with teams and not give anything up in our backline defensively,” says Buchheit.

The 8-1 boys are of until Tuesday, May 3rd against Des Moines Roosevelt; the girls will stay at home for their next game to take on Des Moines Lincoln on Monday.
