The newly-rated No. 5 Pella girls golf team continued their successful season with a road triangular victory in Newton Tuesday.

Lady Dutch golfers outshot No. 8 Newton 195-204. Coach Mike Vint says it was a competitive meet, involving two teams leading the conference.

“Team depth helped us tonight,” Vint says. “ We got great rounds from Kenzie, Brooke and Lauren. Those three–along with Camille, were pretty solid on a difficult course.”

Kenzie Nossaman was the runner-up medalist and led Pella with a 46 and Brooke Galeazzi shot a 48.

Pella’s boys broke the 400 mark for the first time this spring with a team score of 390 at the Oskaloosa Invitational, good for 12th place.

‘The good news is we are improving,” Fessler told KNIA/KRLS Sports. “We broke 400 for the first time this season. We have 3 scores consistently under 100, but just can’t get a solid 4th score to help us out.”

Ben Uitermarkt shot an 85 to led Pella. The boys play next in the LHC conference meet May 2nd at Bos Landen; the girls will return to Newton to play for the conference crown that same day.
