In a make up non-conference tilt, the Pella girls’ tennis swept their doubles round en route to an 8-3 win over Ottumwa Monday.

The Lady Dutch were tied after a back-and-forth singles round featuring wins from Lily Roozeboom, Cecily Johnson, and Patience Dykstra. Only dropping one set, all of Pellas’ pairs cleaned house to clinch the victory.

Despite a similar start in singles, the Little Dutch boys were unable to defend their home courts at Caldwell Park last night, falling 7-4 against the Bulldogs. Ryan Van Maanen earned a three set win in the singles, and Michael Reed and Colton Edwards also earned singles victories, but the doubles pairs couldn’t keep up with Ottumwa.

The Lady Dutch remain on the road at Oskaloosa today, and Pella’s boys stay at home to face the Indians.
