After mustering just two hits in the first game, the Central baseball team made a furious rally in game two, but fell short of Simpson on Tuesday night. Game one went to the Storm, 11 – 0; Simpson was up 5 – 0 after the second inning, and then added six runs in the sixth to slam the door shut. The only two Dutch hits came from Spencer Gritsch, while the rest of the line-up went “O-fer” at the plate. Central fell behind 6 – 1 after the fourth frame of game two, but added a single run in the fifth and three more in the sixth before being shut down the rest of the way. Kyle Crampton had a two-run homer in that inning to help spark the offense. The Dutch drop to 6 – 13 overall and 4 – 6 in league play. They return to the diamond at home this afternoon versus Grinnell for a non-conference affair.
