Grinnell College put up seven first-inning runs and ended their game with Central’s baseball team early last night, 16 – 6 in seven innings. All seven of those tallies came with two outs, a theme that has been a problem for the Dutch this season. Brandon Zumbach was the pitcher of note for the Dutch, who gave up eight runs in total over four innings, none of which were earned. Freshman Ryan Bouwman went 3-for-4 at the dish in the loss, as Central’s record plummets to 6 – 14 overall. They get back to league action on the road tomorrow for a doubleheader against a powerful Buena Vista squad.
