Ten total events will have at least one member of the Central men’s and women’s track and field team participating starting this Thursday in Waverly at the 2016 Division III National Outdoor Track and Field Championships. For the women, six total events, but four of them will involve the same decorated Dutch athlete: Abi Davis. She will go solo in the 100 and 200 meter dash prelims, and run a leg of the 4 x 100 and 400 meter relay teams as she tries to end her collegiate career on the highest note possible. Central’s women also qualified in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and in the hammer throw. For the men, they’ll run in the 110 high hurdles; Cole Decker will compete in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs, and Logan Mulford, ranked second in D3, will participate in the high jump. A 3:15 p.m. projected start time for the women’s 4 x 100 meter relay preliminaries will kick things off for the Dutch on Thursday.
