For the first time in 2016, the Central men’s track and field team finds itself on the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association team computer rankings for the outdoor season. The Dutch have a No. 12 affixed to their name, thanks to many top performances at the Drake Relays and recent meets. Points in the rankings are based on the top finishes of Division III athletes in each event that takes place at the national outdoor championships. Cole Decker recorded the second best time in D3 in the 5000 meters on the Blue Oval last week, while Logan Mulford put up the second-best performance in the high jump at the same venue. Central is the only Iowa Conference school in the rankings. The final meet of the regular season is this Saturday for Central when they go to Illinois for the Fighting Scot Invitational at Monmouth College.
