They had a total of three conference championship “combinations.” Pella Christian’s girls’ tennis team won both singles flights and doubles flight 1 on their way to a Little Hawkeye Conference team championship on Tuesday. It was an “all Pella” final in the first flight of singles; Lily Roozeboom representing the Lady Dutch took on freshman Brooke Jorgensen of the Eagles. The tight match went Jorgensen’s way, winning in straight sets, 7 – 6 and 6 – 2. Rachel Tvedt (tweet) defeated Pella’s Cecily Johnson in the second flight of singles, and the team of Andrea Carballo and Abbie Vander Molen won 6 – 4 and 6 – 4 over Newton’s pair in flight one of doubles. Elyse Sadler and Patience Dykstra were third in the second flight of doubles. The Eagles scored 36 total points out of a maximum of 44, while Pella finished with 32. Full results can be found below.
