Facing two ranked teams, Pella Christian’s boys’ and girls’ soccer squads each took a loss against Grinnell on Tuesday night. The boys were down at the half, 2 – 0 to the Tigers, but found the back of the net early in the second. Nathan DeBruin assisted Gabriel Soler for the score, but it was all the Eagles could get in despite continued pressure, and they fell, 2 – 1. The Eagle girls hosted Class 2A No. 15-ranked Grinnell and kept the game close most of the way, but eventually lost, 5 – 0. The boys sit with a record of 9 – 3, the girls are 5 – 7; the former is back in action on the road at Carlisle on Thursday, while the latter goes to Centerville this Monday.
