The weather threw some unpredictable curve balls at various locations throughout the state for Monday’s regional girls’ golf tournaments. Fortunately, the precipitation stayed away from Westwood Golf Course in Newton, and allowed the Pella High girls’ golf team to qualify for the state tournament after they shot a team score of 384. Their score was second best to Fairfield, who shot a 368 to win the regional. Individually, Camille Henry was the runner-up meet medalist and qualified by herself with an 18-hole score of 84. The Lady Dutch will enjoy the rest of the week off and prepare to tee-off at Coldwater Links in Ames for the Class 4A state tournament on May 31 and June 1.
