A truck and trailer carrying 160 hogs went off the roadway and tipped in southern Marion County Tuesday evening.

The trailer caught the shoulder southbound on Highway 5 near the county line–south of the Marysville Stub, and crashed into a ravine. Pigs freed by the rollover were corralled and several hurt in the accident will be euthanized. Bussey Fire and Rescue, Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Marion County Road Department and Indiana Township Fire responded to the scene.

The swine belong to Prestige Farms. The driver was unhurt in the accident.
