The state qualifiers for the PCM boys track and field will be tomorrow afternoon at Van Meter, and the ever improving team has had plenty of time to rest and prepare for the meet.
PCM Head Coach Colin Harrison tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that the team is peaking at the right time, with a heavy combination of getting work in at meets and light practices which work on technique rather than conditioning at this point in the season. Last week at the conference meet, despite a disappointing finish in the team standings, the team improved their times and distances to where Coach Harrison says that the state qualifiers will be very competitive for the Mustangs. He went further to say that the goal from day one has been to improve, and that sometimes the results don’t quantify how well your team performed. The Mustangs will travel along with the girls to Van Meter for the state qualifying meet tomorrow, which includes area teams Pleasantville and Pella Christian.
