A no-hitter thrown by a pair of Pella Christian Eagles would dominate the state runner up Pleasantville Trojans in the season opener last night in Pleasantville 3-0.
The Trojans effort at the plate would be shut down by Eagles starter Mac Sarver through the first five innings, and Kyle Sneller would dominate the final two to complete the no hitter for the Eagles. The key moment for the Eagles came when the game was scoreless in the sixth inning when Cole Vande Voort would hit a two out RBI single, his second hit of the game, to break the tie and seal the win. The Eagles will take their win and go against West Marshall tomorrow, while the Trojans will try to get back on track against Chariton tonight.
