That time is finally here, what seemingly started not too long ago has finally culminated in a meet to test three area schools boys and girls track and field teams in the state qualifying meet at Van Meter.

Pella Christian, PCM, and Pleasantville will compete with 10 other schools for the right to travel to the Blue Oval at Drake University for the Iowa High School State Track Meet. Pleasantville has been mixing and matching its large pool of athletes all season to see what combinations will work best as they try to defend a 4x100m relay team state championship from a season ago. PCM 110 High Hurdles competitor Austin Sneller told KNIA/KRLS Sports that one of his fondest memories of his high school years was making the state track tournament last year as a junior, a feat he would like to accomplish again as a senior. On the Pella Christian side head coach, Keith Anderson, says his expectations for the girls’ side are fairly high. The meet will take place at Van Meter High School starting at 4pm, and a full list of state qualifiers will be available tomorrow on KNIAKRLS.com
