Tulip Time revenues from the 81st festival are likely to close in on ten-year records.
The news was shared at a special volunteers’ recognition breakfast this week.
Pella Historical Society Interim Director Allison Limke says the reports from various volunteer groups were overwhelmingly positive.
“Everyone felt like the volunteers all stepped up, the staff all stepped up,” she says. “Everyone on the steering committee delegated to their subcommittees and everyone worked together as a team–there was great communication, and all of our visitors had a great time.”
Members of the Pella Historical Society board and steering committee reported that visitor traffic was significantly higher in many areas, including grandstand ticket sales and visits to the Scholte House.
Thursday’s events were also among the highest-ever attended on the traditional first day of the festival’s history.
