Maharishi once again had Pella High’s number in the boys’ team tennis substate final. In a close match, Maharishi pulled out a 5 – 3 win over the Little Dutch to advance to the state tournament. The two schools split the six singles matches, with victories for Pella from Ben Lauritsen, Reid Leidigh, and Colton Edwards. Unfortunately, Nos. 1 and 3 doubles defeated the Little Dutch, which ended the match with one battle still going on. Pella’s girls were blanked by Camanche, 5 – 0, at the University of Iowa Tennis Center, in their regional final. Their season is not completely over, as Lily Roozeboom and Bronwyn Metcalf will each advances to the state singles tournament at the beginning of June. A total of six seniors were listed on Pella’s girls’ roster for 2016. The boys lose ten from their total roster. Full results for both teams can be found below.
