Last year the top three Pleasantville Trojan Girls Golfers would place in the top 25 at the state tournament, disappointment. This year the Trojans are undefeated and have claimed meet medalist honors in every meet but this past regional competition, not good enough.

The Trojans have had an eye on competing for the State Title since day one, and Pleasantville Head Coach Dan Calhoun says despite the success of the regular season, there is still a lot of work to do if the girls are going to fulfill that goal. The Trojans have moved up to class 2A for this year’s competition, but the harder competitiong only spurs the Trojans on to improve even more. Round two of regionals will be held next Monday, and the three Trojan golfers, Hannah Gordon, Bailey Oliva, and Avari Heinz-Penz will also all be advancing in individual play.
