Turnover has been an issue in 2016 for the Pella High boys’ soccer team. Roughly half of last year’s team were seniors, and a lot of their scoring graduated after the season was over. The Little Dutch are 7 – 7 right now, and while Coach Mark Solomon says they are still in the process of learning how to play with one another, he has seen improvement from the team with just two weeks left in the regular season. The offense has been down for Pella, but their defense has shown growth. Freshman Sam Warner has been the mainstay in goal for the Little Dutch, and he has made 87 saves and carries an 81% save percentage through 14 games. The season continues on Tuesday for the guys in green when they go to Newton for a Little Hawkeye Conference match.
