Dallas Center – Grimes’ baseball team walked off on Pella Christian last night, by a final score of 3 – 2. A Mustangs’ error in the second scored both of PC’s runs in the second and fifth innings. D-C-G got one back with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth, and then scored the tying run in the sixth and winning run in the seventh with RBI singles. Will Dembski had a single and a stolen base; Clay Stravers doubled and also swiped a bag for the now 9 – 7 Eagles. In a battle of the top two Little Hawkeye Conference softball teams, it was the Fillies that edged the Eagles, 4 – 1 in Dallas Center. The Eagles could only muster two hits against Rachel Lowary, with their only run getting pushed across from an error after a lead-off walk. This pushes Pella Christian’s record back to 11 – 4, and they’ll play at home versus Knoxville tonight, in a game that can be heard live on both 92.1 KRLS and AM 1320/FM 95.3 KNIA starting at roughly 7:15 p.m. PC’s baseball team has tonight off and returns home for the first time in 11 days for a doubleheader on Friday against Newton.
