It was what Coach Joel Johnson called a good split. The Knoxville Baseball Squad salvaged a split with class 3A number six Fairfield. The Trojans took game one 2-0 and tagged Rylan Cox with the tough luck loss. Cox went the distance scattering seven hits, striking out one and walking none. Blake McClung went 3/4 at the plate. Game two the Panthers took down Fairfield 3-1 behind a solid 5 1/3 innings from Jacob Zuck to get the win, Kaleb Streigle earned his second save of the season. Johnson told KNIA/KRLS Sports the guys are starting to get that “Knoxville Grit” that he has been looking for all season. Knoxville is now 8-10 on the season and will jump back into South Central Conference action at Eddyville tonight.
