The Melcher-Dallas Baseball Squad went 1-1 at the Lamoni Invitational on Saturday. Game one went the Saints way over the host Demons 8-5 in eight innings. Ethan Harrington got the win in relief going three innings allowing just one run. Harrington was also 2/4 at the plate, Paul Karpan went 2/4 as well with two RBIs, Dalton Lovell had two RBIs and Elijah Williams also had an RBI. As good as the first game was, the second game was exactly the opposite as Melcher-Dallas lost to Moravia 19-1. Blaise Cooper got the only RBI for the Saints. Coach Pat Ferguson tells KNIA/KRLS his young team is continuing to make progress which bodes well for the future of the program. Ferguson adds, two years ago there was no team, last season they were winless and now this season they are starting to figure how to finish games and be more competitive.
