The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad had what you would call a day/night double header. The Saints finished their game against Twin Cedars that was suspended from last week and won 7-0. Emilie Krpan tossed a shutout. Twin Cedars could not get anything going so long as Krpan was in the circle. Krpan gave up just one hit, walked four and struck out eight going the distance. The biggest inning for Melcher-Dallas Saints was the fifth as the Saints scored five runs on an RBI single by Kirsten Mull, a sacrifice fly by Gracie Mann. Angel Beaty paced Melcher-Dallas Saints at the plate going 2/4 and drove in one and scored two runs. Jensen Hastings took the loss, she allowed seven runs in six innings, walked two and struck out four. Bailey Dunkin got the only hit for the Sabers. Later on Melcher-Dallas played its scheduled game against Diagonal and hammered the Maroons 14-4. Lilly Bennett got her first career varsity win in the circle and Megan Roush clubbed a grand slam. The Saints will head to Centerville tonight to take on Wayne and the Reddetts in a triangular.
