After losing two games to Oskaloosa the previous night, Saturday was a different day for the Pella Christian baseball team, who beat both of their opponents at the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont tournament. A Kade VanderMolen sacrifice fly was all the offense the Eagles needed in their 7 – 0 shutout of North Mahaska to begin the day. Ben Bouwkamp had an RBI single, Clay Stravers and Lawson Bruxvoort also had run-scoring knocks in the win. Wyatt Terpstra got the win on the mound, striking out ten batters. The Eagles struck for five runs in the first in the championship game against E-B-F, and they beat the Rockets, 12 – 2 in five innings. VanderMolen grabbed the “W” in his first varsity start of his career. The Eagles improve to 6 – 2 this season, and play at home against Pella on Monday night.
